GSC in the Community
The goal of our local outreach ministry is for the residents of our community to see us out as a group making a difference, giving us the opportunity to help others discover God’s love and desire a personal relationship with him. We participate in a number of different community outreach missions throughout the year; these are our largest efforts:
Prayer Walking
We are committed to helping God’s Kingdom advance throughout every neighborhood in Loveland. To help us do so, we have set up a simple system to encourage our members to cover each street with prayer. Once a month, members walk the streets of a small portion of a neighborhood, praying over its residents.
We pray that from the youngest to the oldest resident, their lives would be filled with:
- God’s blessing in their lives
- Peace in their hearts
- Peace with their neighbors and families
- Hope for their future
- The knowledge that another human being and the Lord Jesus love them
“My response is to get down on my knees before the Father, this magnificent Father who parcels out all heaven and earth. I ask him to strengthen you by his Spirit – not a brute strength but a glorious inner strength – that Christ will live in you as you open the door and invite him in. And I ask him that with both feet planted firmly on love, you’ll be able to take in with all followers of Jesus the extravagant dimensions of Christ’s love. Reach out and experience the breadth! Test its length! Plumb the depths! Rise to the heights! Live full lives, full in the fullness of God.” (Ephesians 3:14-21, The Message)
These Prayer Walks only take about 30 minutes and provide a bit of exercise for your heart – physical as well as spiritual! “As we invest this time into our neighbors, our hearts toward them will grow.” (Matthew 6:21).

Annual Outreaches
Food Drive (April): Good Shepherd supports the House of Neighborly Service with a food drive in April. All month long, we collect food and other items that will go to the low-income families and individuals who rely on support from House of Neighborly Service to get them through tough times.
Faith in Action Sunday (August): One Sunday in August we cancel church and go to several sites throughout the community and spend the day worshiping through service.
Christmas Wrap (December): We head out to the Promenade Shops at Centerra to wrap presents for shoppers. This is a great way to bless the community in a fun and practical way during the Christmas season.
If you have an idea for outreach we haven’t tried before, talk to Pastor Robin at 970.669. 3675, ext. 286 or send her an email at robinp@gschurch.tv.
