The Ministry of Jesus Prayer Training is designed to help you know how to pray for those you interact with on a daily basis and for those at the altar on Sundays.

We talk about…

• How do I pray for people?

• What issues do people face?

• How do I let the Holy Spirit work through me?

• and much more

We’ll also be able to answer questions you might have about prayer.

The Prayer Training happens on Friday, June 1 from 6:30-9 p.m. and Saturday, June 2 from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. There’s no cost and childcare is available. We hope you’ll join us!

Hey Everyone! We are so excited that you have interest in Praise and Worship for the Kid’s Ministry at GSC! We love to sing, shout, jump and dance as we praise our amazing God!

In order to audition please fill out the Volunteer Application:  Adult or Student (5th grade- age 17). You will also need to learn the motions for the songs “Your Love” and “You Are”. Follow these steps:

1. Watch the “Motions: Training Video” .
2. Learn the motions.
3. Practice with the “Motions: Performance Video”.
4. Be ready to audition on May 20th at your assigned time.

About Jon Holsten

As a life-long child protection advocate, Jon Holsten is an internationally recognized speaker and children’s book author. A veteran police sergeant and child sex crimes investigator in Fort Collins, Colorado, Jon has investigated and helped successfully prosecute dozens of child sexual abuse cases.

His experiences on the front lines of law enforcement have led Jon to seek new ways to protect children from predators. His research and passion led him to create the wildly popular children’s book: The Swimsuit Lesson. Beautifully written and illustrated, The Swimsuit Lesson helps parents talk to their young children about privacy, modesty, and those who might do them harm. The book has been featured on ABC’s Good Morning America, numerous local media outlets and even caught the attention of the Oprah Winfrey Show. Jon has written articles on child sexual abuse and prevention for Focus on the Family, Children’s Ministry Magazine, and other publications. In addition to his international speaking audiences, he has become a very popular speaker for local MOPS (Mothers’ of Pre-Schoolers) groups.

Through his writing and speaking, Jon demonstrates his passion for helping parents protect their children from predators. A doting dad himself, Jon and his wife, Ceri, have six children of their own and make their home in Fort Collins, Colorado.

Good Friday | April 6 | 7-8 p.m.

This service will include a time of reflection and communion. We encourage you to fast on Good Friday leading up to the service to help prepare our hearts for the weekend. This will serve as our day of fasting for April.

Easter Sunday | April 8 | 9 & 11 a.m.

We have a very special morning planned! In addition to great celebratory worship, we’re taking a week’s break from the series on The Book of The Revelation to do a very special message entitled Easter // The Answer to Life’s Thorns. This sermon will be a clear presentation of The Gospel message delivered in a very positive, encouraging, and life giving way. We’re confident that it will speak to one and all. Plus, the spirit of the whole church on Easter Sunday is very contagious! He has risen indeed!!

Easter Egg-Stravaganza | April 8 | 10:45 a.m.

2nd Monday is one day, specifically set apart each month, to slow down from our daily routine to seek God more intentionally. This posture of prayer, fasting, and worship has found its way into our monthly rhythm since Winter 2010 and is a day not to be missed. Together, we strive to set aside our busy-ness and passionately seek Him for our lives, our church, our friends, families and our communities.

Before you start the day, during your breaks, in-between classes or appointments, while the kids are at school, and to end the day…

Pray. Fast. Seek God.

INTERNATIONAL

• A Spirit of Revelation (Matthew 24, Mark 13) about Jesus to spread throughout the world
• The Church – for our brothers and sisters in Christ throughout the world and for those persecuted for the name of Jesus.

NATIONAL

• Pray for our country: I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone—for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. I Timothy 2:1-2
• President Obama, Vice President Biden, Congressional leaders, etc. (Romans 13:1-7)
• State leaders, local leaders
• Cabinet Members, Supreme Court Justices
• For the next Presidential and Congressional election in November, 2012 – for Godly leadership for our nation
• Revival and returning to Jesus in the church and in our nation
• Pray for our troops at home and across the world.

LOCAL

• Good Shepherd Church – for the Lord’s continued blessings and leading in all areas of our church. Pray this for all Loveland churches. Pray for the fulfillment of the 1 Chronicles 28 promise (“people with skills of every kind will volunteer and the leaders and the entire nation are at your command”).
• For Loveland – For any spirit of apathy, lethargy and complacency to be broken and for God’s Kingdom to come and His will to be done in our city.
• Pray for the peace, protection and prosperity of our community.

PERSONAL/FAMILY

• For your family members (spouse, children, grandchildren, parents) and for the well being of all of our families.
• Provision from the Lord (health, finances, protection, etc.) in each of our lives and the lives of our loved ones.
• For Prodigals in our families to return home to the Father.
