Although we have different ministries, initiatives, and expressions of church, this statement unifies everything we do under one shared purpose. All of our efforts exist to become a community in and beyond this city that is founded on God’s word, led by His Spirit, where Jesus is the story. We want to be a community unified under, sacrificing toward, and risking for the Gospel…all for the sake of Loveland and Northern Colorado knowing Jesus.

We desire to grow spiritually healthy families by awakening and championing parents in their roles as the primary nurturers of their kid’s faith. As a church we desire to play a supportive role to parents in that process and believe that it is only by partnering with the Holy Spirit that true transformation takes place. We believe this kind of strong family unit points to Jesus in compelling ways where not only we’ll be changed, but others around us could as well.
We believe that to grow spiritually healthy families, parents must be equipped to be the primary nurturers of their kid’s faith (Deuteronomy 6), that the faith community needs to play a supportive role in this endeavor (Ephesians 4), and that we must remain dependent on the Holy Spirit to bring about spiritual growth and formation when and as he chooses (Philippians 2:13).

Our curriculum is a dynamic, spiritually-forming, and family-empowered ministry philosophy that offers a vibrant weekend experience, as well as other family resources that meet the specific needs of today’s generation.
We strongly believe that spiritual development can and should begin from the earliest age with parents as the primary nurturers of their children’s faith. With this in mind, our resources support both the church and home with a focus on knowing God personally, igniting a passion for Christ, learning to listen to his Spirit, keeping Biblical content true to context, and cultivating a concern for people’s needs in our communities and the world.

This monthly resource is packed with ideas for family devotions, ideas for creating traditions in your home, serving opportunities, and more!  Staying in line with Spiritual Parenting, each monthly issue focuses on one of the 10 Environments.

There are 3 ways you can receive HomeFront monthly:

  1. Click here to subscribe and have each monthly issue emailed directly to your inbox!
  2. Pick up a hard copy of HomeFront at the Families Board at any weekend gathering
  3. Download the free app and have access to the issue whenever you need it on your phone or tablet.

As a church, we believe that God’s design for passing down faith happens through the family and that the church plays a supportive role in that process.  Spiritual Parenting is parenting with the eternal in mind.  This 6-week course focuses on 10 Environments that parents can create in their home to partner with the Holy Spirit in raising spiritually healthy children.

The course is designed for parents to meet one another and explore ways that we, as a faith community, can champion each other on in our roles as the primary nurturers of our kid’s faith.  To sign up for our next Spiritual Parenting class please email

Our children’s innocence is under attack, and parents cannot win the battle with a single awkward "birds and the bees" talk or a strict set of rules. The Passport2Purity Getaway Kit helps build heart-to-heart communication between you and your pre-teen while laying a foundation of purity that will prepare them for the turbulent years ahead.

A child dedication is a way to let everyone in the GSC faith community know that you have a desire to raise your children in the ways of Christ and present them to God. It’s a vow you take before God and your church that you will do everything you can to guide your children until they are free to make the choice to follow Jesus. Everyone in the church plays a supportive role, whether they have children or not, to stand with parents to help guide and encourage them along the way.

Next Child Dedication Class:

September 16 at 10:45 a.m.

Next Child Dedication:

September 30 at 9:00 a.m.

We are a church that believes in young people. This generation is being transformed as students encounter Jesus, build positive friendships and get inspired to live for something greater than themselves. This is done in partnership with parents who still have an important voice in the lives of their teenagers.

High schoolers meet on Wednesday nights from 7:00-8:30 p.m. for powerful worship experiences, small group nights, and just-for-fun events that are great for inviting friends who don’t know Jesus. We believe in young people and unleashing a generation to use their voice, their ideas, and their passion for God to make the world a better place.

A church cannot thrive from behind closed doors. That’s why our outreach efforts exist on both the local and global level – so we can help share the love of God in our own backyard and reach into backyards around the world. We support missionaries afar and community efforts here at home because we love our neighbors, no matter where they are.

Local outreach gives us opportunities to help others discover God’s love and desire a personal relationship with Him. We participate in a number of different community outreaches throughout the year; these are our largest efforts:

Go Big VBS | Summer | We like to break away from the normal VBS format and as a church we GO into our neighborhoods and invite kids and their families into God’s Big Story.  It’s an exciting week where our kids and the kids in our neighborhoods will be able to connect with God, their friends, and caring adults in a safe environment. There are many different ways everyone can be involved.

Faith in Action Sunday | August | One Sunday in August we cancel church and go to several sites throughout the community and spend the day worshiping through service.

Christmas Gift Wrap Outreach | December | We head out to the Promenade Shops at Centerra to wrap presents for shoppers. This is a great way to bless the community in a fun and practical way during the Christmas season.

Front Porch Outreach | Front Porch Ministries (out of Christ's Church of the Rockies) provides a nutritional and tasteful meal to the less fortunate in our community. We serve from 11-2 p.m. on the first, third, and fifth Wednesdays of the month.  If you are interested in helping prepare the meal or serving the meal, contact Denise Hetzel,

Prayer Walking | We are committed to helping God’s Kingdom advance throughout every neighborhood in Loveland. To help us do so, we have set up a simple system to encourage our members to cover each street with prayer. Once a month, members walk the streets of a small portion of a neighborhood, praying over its residents. These Prayer Walks only take about 30 minutes and provide a bit of exercise for your heart – physical as well as spiritual!  “As we invest this time into our neighbors, our hearts toward them will grow.” (Matthew 6:21).

For information on how to get involved with our Local Outreach Team, contact Jon Hummel at 970.669. 3675, or

Our global outreach efforts at Good Shepherd are to prayerfully help to send out disciple-makers equipped with God’s power. Those disciple-makers we send out will cross barriers of culture, language, and distance to establish and strengthen the Church in places beyond the normal sphere of influence of our members.

We take our role of providing for the missionaries and ministries we support very seriously and are committed to prayerfully seeking God’s wisdom in all that we do. Our primary function is to provide significant prayer and financial support to these ministries, and act as a liaison between the Good Shepherd congregation and the missionaries we support. We are also committed to providing opportunities for Good Shepherd members to have a personal experience in mission field if they feel called to do so.

One Child

Through a monthly financial commitment, you can help a child in Haiti or Thailand, chosen by Good Shepherd’s own missionaries, to attend school. Your donation will help meet basic educational needs, including tuition, books, uniforms, transportation, and two meals a day. You and your family will be able to correspond with the child you support financially and through prayer.  By meeting this educational need, you’ll give him or her an opportunity to move beyond poverty into a place of hope.  Your sponsored child will also have the chance to hear about the Word of God and His love through a relationship with our missionaries.

Cost: $35/month for a child in Haiti, $45/month for a child in Thailand. Please consider whether your family can fulfill this commitment for an entire year.  Feel free to partner with another family or even with your life group to support a child.

Men's weekly Bible Study

Thursday Mornings at 6:30 am

Here at Good Shepherd, we want to create a space for people to encounter God. While we connect with God in various ways in our personal lives, Sunday services at GSC are a time for us to come together and respond to God as a family. Worship, simply put, is our response to God; it is our response to who He is and what He’s done. Sunday morning is a time we set aside for singing together, reading the Bible, and learning how to live the life to which Christ has called us.

Our music comes from a variety of modern worship artists like Hillsong, Bethel, Elevation Worship, Chris Tomlin, Passion, and Jesus Culture, and we also incorporate some timeless hymns which still hold vast depth and substance for us here in the 21st century.

Our services are attended by folks who have been in a relationship with God for decades, and by those who are trying this whole “church thing” out for the very first time. It’s common to see folks with closed eyes and raised hands while they sing along, and some folks simply stand or sit while they read along with the projected song lyrics. We place no expectation on people to “act” a certain way during our times of worship through music. We strive to be authentic in our response to Jesus, and we want everyone -regulars and first time guests- to enjoy that freedom as well.

For more information, or to get involved with the music or tech teams at GSC, contact Pastor Phil at

GSC is a Spirit-led and praying community. Prayer is not something confined to a pastor on a church stage one day each week. Instead, the invitation to pray is for God’s people to embrace a life that’s in regular communion with God. Together, Good Shepherd ministers to each other through prayer in a variety of different gatherings and through many ways:

As prompted by God’s Spirit, our weekends often involve a call for people to respond to God by receiving prayer. We also have a Prayer Team available to pray for you directly after service at the front of the stage.

Sundays, 9 a.m. & 10:45 a.m.

God is calling us to become a community that is dependent on His power and presence to lead us in every way. Join together as we set apart one day each month to seek Him more intentionally through prayer, fasting, and worship. Check out the Wednesdays Without page to find out more.

Prayer Team members are available directly after service at the front of the stage. Prayer request cards are located in the chair pockets or you can submit a request HERE. If you would like extended prayer from a GSC prayer team, contact Pastor Rob,

Living in an imperfect world, we all get bumped and bruised by circumstances, people, and even our own choices. Thankfully, God has provided help for us through relationship with Christ and relationships with one another.

Prayer: We would love to partner with you in prayer. Our Prayer Network exists for just that reason. If you have a prayer request, please call us at 970.669.3675 or email
